Renewable Gas Trader

You will be tasked with aggregating data and turning it into simple and practical solutions that benefit prospective clients. In the ever-evolving cleaner energy market, trading is a highly challenging job – one that requires outstanding analytical skills and the ability to work well under pressure.

• PnL responsibility for the biomethane and E-gas book
• Increase and maintain supplier portfolio with plant owner/operators, brokers, large counterparties including investment funds
• Developing trading strategies with analysts and other colleagues
• Managing trade, counterparty and contract risk in line with broader strategy
• Pricing of risk and flow
• Manage volume risk in a portfolio of offtakes and supply

Key Requirements

Our customer is looking to recruit a pro-active, energetic, ambitious, eager to learn Renewable Gas Trader to the renewable fuels team. The ideal candidate is not only fluent in English, has previous renewable trading/portfolio management experience, but is also very excited about the idea of building a career in the rapidly growing maritime clean fuel sector that is of vital importance to decarbonize shipping.

• 4-7 years of experience as a trader/portfolio manager in commodities
• Experience in illiquid OTC markets is a strong plus
• Finished Bachelor or Master in preferably an economical, econometrical, mathematical or any quantitative study
• A strong commercial mindset
• Ability to work accurately under pressure
• Analytical skills combined with social skills
• A proactive problem-solver
• Team player
• Living in or willing to move to Amsterdam
• Fluent in English, additional languages (Dutch, French, Polish, Italian) are advantageous
